Whole Grain Oats Carob Kheer

 




Ingredients 

    1 tbsp pure ghee

    1 cup of whole grain rolled oats 

    2.5 cups of grass fed cow milk 

    1 tbsp carob powder 

    3 pinch of nutmeg powder 

    1/2 cup maple syrup OR 1/2 rock sugar candy crushed

    3 tbsp date sugar OR coconut sugar 

    Sliced almonds as needed to garnish 


Procedure

    Step 1: Heat the ghee in a medium pan, add the oats and roast for 15-20 seconds until the ghee is            absorbed and the oats look slightly golden. 

    Step2: Add the carob powder and milk (add milk little by little), mixing very well to avoid carob             powder forming any lumps. Add the entire milk and mix continuously for 3-4 minutes. 

    Step 3. The maple syrup and date sugar. Mix well and simmer on low heat for another 3 minutes. 

    Step 4. Add the nutmeg powder and mix once again; turn off the heat and garnish with sliced                  almonds. 

    Offer it to Krishna and honour the prasadam. 

This recipe builds good Kapha and balances Vata and Pitta; I make this for my children 2 times a week as morning breakfast. Makes a best morning offerings for Dwadashi. Light, simple and quick)
