Paruppu vada recipe

Ingredients

Channa dal-1cup

Cumin seeds-11/2tsp 

 Fennel seeds-11/2tsp

 Curry leaves

 Green chili 

Coriander leaves 

Cabbage

Ginger 

Salt 

Oil

Method:

1 cup of channa dal – soak for 3-4 hours (plus 1 tbs soaked dal separately)

Dry roast cumin seeds and fennel seeds – 1 ½ tsp each

Grind the roasted seeds manually, in mortar and pestle

Finely Chop and keep these items ready - Curry leaves, Green chili, coriander leaves, Cabbage

Grind the channa dal with a big coin of ginger  (split channa dal. Some use Toor dal as well. I haven’t used that for this recipe)

Grinding is the tricky part, only blend it 3-4 pulses. Don’t make it like a paste.

You should still see some channa dal grains

Mix the Channa dal with all other items. Finally, add that 1 tbs soaked channa dal).

Make small balls, and flatten them, deep fry them in oil. Offer to the Lord and honour 😊
