Sooji Dhokla



Ingredients


 One cup sooji 

1/2 cup Dahi (sour )

1/2 cup water 

One teaspoon salt or depending on ur taste 

1/2teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon oil

If Dahi isn’t sour ( some lemon juice )

Mix the above ingredients and let it sit for at least 15 mins 

Can be left soaking to 30 mins for better results 

U can double the quantity while soaking 

But mix Eno only in the batch that is going in steamer immediately 

So take some in another bowl and mix Eno then pour in a plate 


Then adjust consistency If needed add more water, should be just like idli batter 

U can add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda  instead of Eno 

Then make steamer ready 

And just before pouring it in the plate add 3/4 teaspoon of Eno and mix lightly 

And pour in plate and steam for 5 mins and let it stand for sometime 

Mine is an induction so I switch off the gas after five mins so another five mins later I take it out and cut it and it easily holds shape and comes out of the plate 

Give Tadka of 

Mustard, sesame, chili, and Hing 

Cumin is optional 

Add cilantro n ready to offer
