Apple Upside -down Cake
This is a simple recipe, I am sure there are more jazzed up versions π Apple upside down cakeple upside-down cake
peel, core, and cut apple in thin slices, you may need 2-3 for a small size cake.
Butter the cake tin generously, layer the apple slices, sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar, about 2-3 tbsp. Keep aside.
Wet:
Mix, 1/3 cup yogurt, 3 tbsp butter, 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla-1 tsp, whisk nicely till smooth.
Dry: 1 cup flour, cinnamon 1 tsp, 1.25 tsp baking powder, 2-3 pinches baking soda. Mix
Fold wet into dry and add water/ milk for desired consistency( about .5 cup- use your discretion, between dosa & idli batter).
This is an 8x8 medium layer cake, please double/ triple recipe for bigger sizes and thicker
Pour on top of the apples, bake at 375 F for about 20-30 min, until a toothpick comes clean.
Offer to laddoo Gopal, honor.
