Sambar (Toordal/Moongdal)






Ingredients


Toor dal -1 cup

Yellow Moong Dal -1cup

 Hald

 Emili

  Veggies

 Muli 

Carrot

 Tomatoes

  Tadaka

 urad dal -1teaspoon

 Jeera -1/4 teaspoon

 Mustard Seeds 1/4 Teaspoon  

Channa Dal 1/4 Teaspoon

Grated Ginger

  Hing

 GreenChillies -1or 2

Red chillies- 1 or 2

 Curry leaves

 Sambar Powder-2 Tablespoons

 Coriander Powder-1 teaspoon

 Chilli Powder- 1/2 teaspoon

 Salt 


Sambar

Soak 1: 1 Toor dal and yellow moong dal or just toor dal 

And pressure cook with salt n Haldi 

Soak some imli ( two tablespoons or depending on how much sour u want )

In another pan 

Add oil n make Tadka of Hing, whole red chilli, mustard seed and urad dal

U can add some grated ginger, but cook it nicely if you add it.

Then add all veggies at once

( I added muli, carrot, and tomatoes today )

Cook it nicely on medium , sprinkle some salt too .

Then add sambar powder, I also add some Dhaniya powder n red chilli powder ( just as a routine habit )

Then let it cook for few mins till then add tamarind pulp 

Let it come to boil nicely add dal and adjust water n simmer till u get a nice consistency 

Add a dollop of ghee

And let it stand for some time and add Dhaniya .
