Honey Cake

A Jordanian recipe
2-pound rawa
1 cup of sugar
1 pound butter
3 cups yogurt
1 tbsp baking powder
5tbsp cinnamon
Tahini
Baking 25 minutes 450

2 cup rava
1/2 cup sugar
2 sticks butter
1 cup yogurt
1.5 tsp baking powder
Cinnamon 2 tbsp
Salt pinch
Tahini about 2 tbsp
Take rava to add a pinch of salt ( my addition not in the recipe)
Add melted butter and mix well with hands so butter coats well.
In a bowl, take yogurt add the baking powder into it, and mix it well. It bubbles up in some time. Mix this yogurt mixture into the butter mixed rawa mixture. Mix it well with hand. No kneading.
To the baking pan add tahini ( traditional recipe says it) then pat the mixture onto the baking pan one layer then sprinkle the cinnamon powder all over it. Pat the leftover mixture. Now make markings like as we would cut cake pieces. Then each piece adds nut ( recipe said peanut and pistachio) I added Almonds. Bake at 450 till you see the cake color change to lightly brown on top. It takes around 25 to 30 minutes.
In the meantime make the plain syrup with sugar and water.
I didn't make syrup I made syrup with agave and honey with little boiled water mixed. ( Around 1 cup) so I add honey about 4 tbsp agave 1/2 cup and around 1/4 cup water.
When the cake is baked pour the liquid mixture all over. Let it cool. Done
Offer it.
