How to make the icing

Buttercream icing (ideal for cake fillings, and cupcake decorations. Enough to fill one medium-sized cake): Beat 1 stick of butter in a large bowl until soft. Gradually add ¾ cups powdered sugar, beating until smooth and adding any flavor variation you would like. Our favorites are some cocoa powder or orange zest.
